Tyan K8WE S2895 - CPU fans start up then stop
It is a Raidmax RXA. I don't go nuts for Raidmax Alienware K8WE S2895 Tyan supplies but Antec and Thermaltake doesn't have a power supply that this board will take, at least what I am seeing on their company website. I have researched Alienware K8WE S2895 Tyan Raidmax power supply and it seems promising. I don't plan on using this power supply for the real system, it is only to check to see if the motherboard and processor are not DOA. This power supply is way to small for my needs.
I have most of the components except the Alienware K8WE S2895 Tyan processor, 2 SATA hard drives and a more powerfully power supply. I am waiting for the new power supply to come in. Just wondering if this is the problem or am I thinking in the wrong direction?
I am thinking that the power supply is not reaching a steady state to fully get turned on. I know that a power supply has two states. The first is the initial state and second is the steady state. The initial state is when the computer gets power turned on. This is a quick initial spike that happens until the power becomes stable for it to get the the steady state.
The steady Alienware K8WE S2895 Tyan is the phase that computer stays in until power is turned off. It is clear that the system isn't reaching this steady state.
EVGA made no such mistakes. This motherboard was not only the envy of anyone who couldn't afford it, but it was reliable. People who used these did so for a very long time.
They even commanded a high price on the used market, long after other motherboards would be relegated to garage sale pricing. I've never been a huge fan of EVGA motherboards, but this one was truly special.
This motherboard didn't bother compromising just to stay within the form factor's specs. ASUS truly innovated here with a daughter board that held the very beefy voltage hardware. This motherboard not only proved itself during our review, but it continued to prove itself until last year when I finally retired this from one of my own systems.
This Alienware K8WE S2895 Tyan paved the way for several successors and set the bar for what an enthusiast motherboard in the mini-ITX form factor should be for years to come. It's also natural to choose a board that used Intel's venerable iBX chipset which was both ahead of its time and unusually long lived. While this Alienware K8WE S2895 Tyan not the originator of the jumperless motherboard design we take for granted today, it was an improvement that added dividers which allowed us to keep the PCI bus close to stock and get more from our CPU's.
The motherboard had numerous improvements over it's descendants and through the Alienware K8WE S2895 Tyan of Slotket adapters it remained relevant for a very long time. Scratch that, it's one of the best motherboards ever built. Nothing else came close to this motherboard in its era.

The X58 chipset was long lived and remained relevant for a very long time. It's still relevant today as we've seen, Sandy Bridge still holds its own in gaming today.
ByI'd already seen more motherboards than I can possibly remember. It takes a lot to blow me away, and that's just what this one did. I initially expected a recoloring and slight tweak to that Alienware K8WE S2895 Tyan.
Boy was I wrong.
